New Review: (Amazon Reader)
5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book
"While the book is about Priscilla and her decisions, I really enjoyed the twist in the story about the Bishop. We as English tend to forget that Bishops are human also."

Blurb:
Englisher Wyatt Winslow asks Anna King to go with him on his plane. Will she risk displeasing her bishop father by doing something against their Ordnung?

Eighteen-year-old Anna King wants to experience new things before she decides to join her Amish church. Although she enjoys being a midwife, Anna talks with her new friend, Wyatt Winslow, about doing something different. She wonders if college might be a possibility for her to get a nursing degree. She might even return to working as a veterinarian assistant. The handsome Wyatt likes talking with Anna about her future. Although her bishop father wouldn’t like her spending time with Wyatt, her friend Maggie invited him to their weekly Tuesday lunches.

Wyatt stays with his Grandma Mattie for the summer because his grandfather died recently. He wants to be there for her and to help his Amish relatives with farm work.

Wyatt was surprised and deeply hurt when his college girlfriend dumped him after their graduation. He can’t help being attracted to Anna. He asks her to go flying with him, but will she risk it? Flying is forbidden by her church district. She hasn’t taken her kneeling vows, so what could be the problem? If she asks for permission, her father will definitely say no. Anna doesn’t like to be secretive, but she wants adventure in her life.

When his cousin, Clint Lambright, becomes interested in the beautiful Anna and takes her home after a youth get-together, Wyatt isn’t pleased. He doesn’t want the competition, especially since Clint is Amish.

Anna notices Wyatt never complains about missing certain things like: electricity, air conditioning, and television. Would Wyatt be able to leave his world to join their Plain church, so they could have a future together? In spite of Clint’s interest in her, Anna feels God might have brought Wyatt to Fields Corner because he could be the one for her.

Busy week!

We watched grandchildren, Dillon, Elena, and Lila this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Their summer camp ended last week and their school starts next week. Grandpa wanted to do a campout and also have our grandson Dean here for the campout and have one tent for the girls and one for the boys in our back wooded spot. Then we heard the weather forecast of rain and decided to cancel the overnight activity. It did rain a lot so I'm glad we didn't do it then. We enjoyed our time with the grandkids but we were exhausted. I guess we are old because they were only here during the day. I hope they have an awesome school year.

Last Saturday, I picked up a church bulletin and was surprised to see Amanda on the cover of it. I never expected it. Since Amanda keeps getting her picture in various places (she and Sara were featured in another publication a couple years ago too), maybe I should have her on one of my book covers. She has always wanted to be on a book cover ever since our daughter Christina posed for my FLEETING HOPE cover!

As summer continues to move ahead at a fast pace, I realize another birthday is looming for me. I don't look forward to getting older, but definitely excited to share my birthday month with a new granddaughter. My son and my daughter-in-law Kelly are expecting their baby late November. What a blessing! God is good to give us another grandchild to love.

Sara and Amanda got to go to our Clermont County Fair over a week ago. Their picture was featured in The Clermont Sun newspaper. August is flying by. Last weekend was great because we spent time with our children and grandchildren. On Friday, we enjoyed attending a theater production at St. Veronica's school. Camellia did a great job speaking her lines and singing. Sunday we ate together as a family at the St. Louis chicken dinner. The grandkids enjoyed playing games and of course, the girls wanted to get their faces painted. Aunt Amanda couldn't be left out. haha!

BLURB

When the two young women from completely different worlds forge a friendship, they don’t realize what tragic events will alter their bond.

Instead of going backpacking in Europe for the summer, pregnant eighteen-year-old Chloe Parrish ends up in Fields Corner. Her parents send her there to work in her aunt’s restaurant. Chloe’s parents and her boyfriend Logan want her to consider adoption.
Amish and happily married, Beth Byler is pregnant with her first baby. When she sees how sad Chloe seems at the doctor’s office, Beth asks if everything is okay. Although they come from different backgrounds, their pregnancies give them something to share and they become friends.

During their prenatal visits, Chloe and Beth meet a new obstetrician, Dr. Tony Cunningham. He becomes interested in the lovely Chloe. Tony and Chloe find themselves at crossroads in their lives—she’s torn about what to do about her baby, and Tony isn’t sure he wants to do Amish home births.
After a baby is kidnapped, anger explodes between Beth and Chloe.
Can both women recover from a heartbreaking situation, and trust God still knows what is best for them?

Kentucky Anniversary Trip!!!

Tom and I took a  brief road trip to Pine Mountain State Resort Park in Pineville, Kentucky. We had an incredible mountain view from our balcony and we stayed in their lodge. We celebrated our 46th anniversary on Monday. When we were in the amphitheater, Tom said we should renew our vows. I think we remembered most of the words. lol Apparently, a lot of weddings are held in their amphitheater, festivals and even high school homecomings. We took a selfie but the beautiful background doesn't show up unfortunately.

We hiked on several beautiful trails, saw the Honeymoon Falls, played miniature golf, and swam in the nice pool. We ate at the lodge's restaurant but if we had to do it again would probably go one night to Pineville to eat. The weather was lovely and little humidity.
