"Maggie was a jewel but faced hurts with her sister Elizabeth and future mother-in-law and even close friends that wanted forgiveness for their actions to try to tear Maggie away from Simon. I admired how Diane Craver penned this story with realistic but dimensional characters and situations to overcome with so many obstacles and bumps in Maggie’s and Simon’s journey of life. She beautifully interweaves faith, finding forgiveness is always in order and secrets are best to be shared to totally hush gossip that only create more uncertainty for others. There’s a lot of family dynamics in this story that is true to life and one never knows what the future may bring until one’s heart is truly where it needs to be through their trust in God and faith."

“Courting Sadie” is the sixth book in the “Bishop’s Daughter" series. I don’t know how I didn’t read the other books first, and I definitely need to go back and catch up. But Diane Craver did a great job of giving us the backstory for the characters.
Sadie is so excited to plan her wedding to Matthew. But meddling family members, work problems and an old flame threaten her happiness.
I loved this sweet romance and I read it in one sitting. God always has a plan!

She passed away last July. Sharing a family picture of my siblings and Mom on her porch in Findlay. I think it was taken in 1988. My dad passed away in 1979. Carolyn is on the right side of the photo in front. My eldest sister, Jean, is next to her. Then standing are Lois, David, Mom, and me. I am the only one left from my family. I miss them all and my dad. I will see them again in heaven.

I loved reading this story by Beth Wiseman.  I have read many of her Amish books and enjoyed them. This is a sweet story about a mother and daughter becoming better and more understanding once the daughter learned about her parents' marriage. Then the mother and daughter meet their soul mates. However, the men have secrets. I kept wondering what the men were hiding from Addison and her mother, Lee Ann. There are two settings in this story  - historic Galveston, Texas, to the beaches of Australia.

Sara and Amanda had a respite this past weekend - the first one this year. Friday evening, we went to Outback Restaurant. We went out for breakfast on Saturday morning in Newtonsville. Saturday night we went to Texas Roadhouse and enjoyed a movie, "Reminders of Him". We had gift cards from our daughter, Emily, for restaurants and movie. Sara and Amanda had a great time too!

Our youngest granddaughter, Irelynn, didn't have preschool one day this week! She visited Grandpa and Grandma for the day at our house! She's so cute and lots of fun! She made a beautiful rainbow!
