I had forgotten about there being a national author's day! Lisa and Carol posted it on Facebook and tagged me! I told my hubby this afternoon about what today is and he said, "That's why I took you out to breakfast this morning. We went to Bob Evan's and my french toast with the apple topping was delicious!

Recommended and rated this book 5 stars When I see a Diane Craver book coming out, my heart skips because I know it will be a WINNER and this one did not disappoint.I could not put this down!!! Every time I said one more chapter, I couldn’t stop and I just had to know what was going on! “An Unexpected Gift” is the second book in The Amish Adoption series. Jenna and her husband are trying for a baby. She meets Isabella, who just lost her fiancée in an accident and is pregnant. Isabella is not sure if she should keep her baby or not. I was guessing what would happen until the end! I like how Diane brought back all of the other characters from her first story. There were two secondary stories with Lindsay and Phoebe. They were also wonderful. I can’t wait for the next book to come out! I am guessing that it will focus on Amy, the third sister. It's available in ebook and paperback! Purchase here for Amazon! Purchase here for Apple! Purchase here for Barnes & Noble! Purchase here for Kobo! I am so glad I read Rosanna's Gift. The characters are well-written. Rosanna Mast is a remarkable and loving young woman. As midwives, Rosanna and her mother Sarah took care of Jane as she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Jane (probably not her real name) didn't even name her newborn, so Rosanna named her Mollie. Sarah and Rosanna are shocked when Jane has legal papers with Rosanna listed as the mother. Jane isn't Amish but she wants Mollie to be raised by the single Amish young woman. Rosanna impressed me throughout the book as she took on the responsibility of raising another mother's baby. Rosanna's best friend, Emma, added humor to the story with her efforts to get Rosanna to continue to attend youth get-togethers. Rosanna's romantic interest is Henry Zook and he is unworthy of her. I rooted for Paul Hertzler to become important to Rosanna. He has all the qualities that Henry seems to lack. When the aunt wishes to adopt Mollie, there are funny moments with her attempts to "mother" baby Mollie. Rosanna's faith during her journey as a young mother touched my heart. I highly recommend Rosanna's Gift as an outstanding book to read.
To purchase a copy of ROSANNA'S GIFT, click on the above book cover to go to Amazon! It is available in Kindle Unlimited or you can purchase a copy! I decided it was time to take these ebooks off the other market sites. The ebooks are available for free if you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription! Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2023An Unexpected Gift by Diane Craver is a touching Amish tale. While An Unexpected Gift can be read as a standalone (the author provides needed details for new readers), I suggest reading The Amish Mother’s Secret first. I thought An Unexpected Gift contained good writing with realistic characters. The characters from The Amish Mother's Secret return and some new ones are added. Somone has good news to share with the family, but the news could upset another. Another family member is struggling with a difficult decision. I like how the triplets along with their biological parents go out of their way to help someone in need. We get to learn about the Swartzentruber Amish. I like that the author explains some of the differences between Old Order and the Swartzentruber Amish. The story has English, Old Order Amish, and Swartzentruber Amish. The point-of-view switches between characters in each category. I did find it an information overload in the beginning as the author introduced the various characters and provided their background (it was so much at once). It became easier as I moved further into the story. An Unexpected Gift has faith, love, forgiveness, compassion, hope, and grace. We also see the importance of accepting a person and not judging them. All things are possible with God. I am looking forward to the next book in the Amish Adoption Series. There is a recipe for coconut cream pie at the end. An Unexpected Gift is an expressive story with a lost love, a surprising blessing, an unpredicted decision, disapproving parents, nuptial upheaval, and a gracious God.
