I now have an agent! Lesley Sabga asked me if she could represent me and she is with The Seymour Agency! When she first contacted me about setting up a time to speak with her, I was worried that she'd ask me all sorts of questions. I was nervous but I shouldn't have been. When we connected by phone, she told me how much she loved my voice and wanted to represent me. She mentioned how she had read my books and liked that I had written in different genres. I know it will be a great working relationship because Lesley has a bubbly and outgoing personality. I have heard many awesome things about her from other authors and readers. The Seymour Agency has an outstanding reputation and has represented many best-selling authors for years. I am truly blessed that I received a contract from Lesley. Now I need to finish writing my manuscript, HER MOTHER'S DECEPTION and get it off to Lesley.
I have chemo treatments this week and I dread them. I hope my arm won't hurt as much as last time and it goes well. I do seem to have a chemo brain and that bothers me greatly. I will be thankful when my chemo ends.

I had my CT scan yesterday. The lab technician had a little difficulty finding a vein for my blood test. I apparently have small veins. Then the technician doing the scan had trouble getting a vein for the IV that I had to have for scan. It seemed like it took a long time for her to get the IV inserted. I don't have a port like some do for the chemo treatments. When I go for my chemo, they insert an IV. I am starting to think it would be easier to have a port. I will learn my results from the CT scan from my oncologist on Wed. when I go for my chemo treatment.

I have had two full chemo treatments. My first treatment in March didn't go well when several things happened, so one of my nurses quickly took me to the ER. My nurses and NP at the OHC were great and caring when my blood pressure dropped and when I had chest pains. I also had low hemoglobin, and was put on oxygen. My daughter, Emily, took me on this day to my first treatment. The hospital doctor decided I needed a blood transfusion. I only spent one night at the hospital. My next chemo treatment in April went fine.
This month I went to the new OHC building which is at Eastgate. We were very close to the Clermont office but the oncologists decided to combine the Anderson office and Clermont office in one new building. It is nice but the pharmacy got backed up with patients from both offices. OHC had just opened so I'm sure they will get the work flow worked out. I was a bit disappointed in the nurse I had. She wasn't one of them I had before from the old office. I had a lot of pain in my hand and arm from my IV that she inserted. When my bags of meds were empty and needed a replacement, the machine kept beeping. She was busy talking with other patients. Finally, she took care of putting a new bag in place.
I am supposed to get a CT scan before my next chemo treatment this month to see if I am getting rid of the cancer. Fortunately, Lymphoma Cancer responds well to chemo so I'm thankful for this.
I feel stressed out when I read the possible side effects from the chemo and how I can get other cancers in the future. My siblings and parents never had cancer so this has been a surprise that I have cancer. I appreciate all the prayers from my friends, relatives, and readers. I have received many awesome and thoughtful cards and messages. Texts and emails have been wonderful too. I'm blessed to have many church groups praying for me too.

I need prayers and I know you will continue to pray for me after you see this latest on my journey to getting well. I was taken to my first chemo yesterday and they couldn't finish it. I had chest pain, blood pressure dropped and when my oxygen level did too, I was put on oxygen. Eventually I was taken to Mercy Clermont hospital, and my hemoglobin was low and I needed to spend the night to wait on blood from Hoxworth blood center in Cincinnati. It didn't arrive until late last night because they had to find a match since I had antibodies in my blood. Anyhow pray that I can tolerate the first chemo next week. A friend of mine had Lymphoma cancer and said he needed blood transfusions but it was later in his treatment. Thanks again for all the prayers. You all are the greatest and love you.

From what I understand, NHL is usually a slow-growing blood cancer so is a surprise to have it in so many places.

My CT scans showed enlarged lymph nodes in abdomen, armpits, shoulder, and collarbone. I'm not sure if he said my neck have enlarged nodes or not. They suspect I have lymphoma cancer based on the CT scans and the symptoms I have. The biopsy will confirm if I do. I have to be at the hospital on Friday at 7:30 a.m. It is supposed to snow. I don't want to have to reschedule it, so hope the weather won't be a problem. It will be a long weekend because I won't know the results until Monday or Tuesday. I have lumps near my collarbone but it wasn't the only reason I made a doctor's appointment. l still have an enlarged spleen and several times a day and during the night, I become severely overheated. I have lost weight too. When I went to the doctor last Monday, he mentioned that I could have cancer. My blood tests showed an abnormal blood count and I'm anemic again. Dr.Chang thinks my spleen is getting rid of my good red blood cells and could be the reason for the abnormal blood count. I might have to have my spleen removed. Tomorrow I have 2 CT scans - one of chest and one of abdomen and pelvis. This waiting is hard but I am thinking positive that I don't have cancer.

On October 4th, I woke up at 3:00 a.m. with severe abdominal pain. It was so intense that I went to see my doctor in the afternoon. He was off so I saw a NP. She told me to go to ER because of the pain and my low blood pressure. I could barely walk so they used a wheelchair to take me to have a CT scan. The ER doctor saw I had a lot of swelling and inflammation in my abdominal area. I was given prescriptions for aggressive antibiotics. They made me very nauseous so after a few days one prescription was switched.
I had to wait to see a GI specialist and saw him on Monday, October 10th. He said the CT scan I had in the emergency room showed an enlarged spleen. He ordered a liver and spleen scan, which I had this past Thursday. I have not heard anything about the results. I am hoping I will tomorrow on Monday. On Oct. 30th, I have another CT scan scheduled. Dr. Ionna wants to give my abdomen time to settle down, then see what new CT scan shows.
I have been blessed with many people praying for me. Prayers have been answered and I am feeling better. I feel normal again. Our youngest daughter, Amanda, said yesterday, "Mom is back."
My hard drive went out of my Dell laptop right before I became ill. I could not believe it. I bought it in June. I had to take it to a technician to take everything off the hard drive and then she put it back in the laptop. It is under warranty and is on the way to Dell for repair. It will take another two weeks after they receive it for the return.
In spite of roadblocks, I am hoping my book, PRISCILLA'S ESCAPE, will still be released this year.
