Another May Birthday!

Our grandson Dean's 6th birthday was last Monday! We dropped off his presents in the afternoon, and we had a fun zoom birthday meeting with him in the evening. A lot of family members joined in on the zoom event! Dean loved it and we did too! He is an awesome little boy and brings us great joy.

I can't believe today was already Memorial Day. It was different without having all our kids and grandkids here. Christina visited us on Saturday, and we went for a walk.

Sara and Amanda started back to their camp last week after being home for 2 1/2 months. Only one or two other adults are attending. The adult recreational camp is in phrase 1 which means only 8 are allowed with a reduced staff. I am wondering if it is due to transportation. We now take them to camp and pick them up. We are allowed to go back to church this next week. I'm glad things are opening up for us.

Lila's 5th Birthday Celebration!

Tom and I went to our son's house to celebrate our youngest granddaughter's 5th birthday! Lila was as cute as ever and we enjoyed seeing our other grandchildren. I did hate that Elena and Lila cried when I tried to leave. They wanted me to stay longer. It's been weeks since we've seen them and they were afraid it would be a while before we would see each other again. The COVID-19 virus has certainly changed our lives but we need to continue trust God. We are thankful that all of us are staying well during this time.

Great nurse at treatment!

Because of the COVID-19 virus, my husband couldn't go into the cancer treatment room with me for my 4th cycle of maintenance therapy. He dropped me off and got groceries. Then he went home. When I was on the second bag with the rituximab drug, I called him to let him know when I'd be done! All the patients and staff wore masks. I have made two masks but the one I am wearing I bought.

I'm thankful to God that the first nurse didn't attempt to try to get a vein for IV when she couldn't find a good one. Sometimes they keep trying to get the tube into a vein, then finally give up and get another nurse. She realized that another nurse was needed. Suzanne found a vein and got it in the first attempt.

If you haven't signed up for my newsletter, I will send one soon and giveaway is $10 gift certificate to Amazon. There is a form on home page to sign up.

Keep safe, my friends. Sara and Amanda are home still from their Adult recreational camp, but enjoying doing exercise tapes, especially Richard Simmons' ones.

Self-Isolation Comments!

During this time of quarantine, these jokes might brighten your day! A church friend Regina shared them with me!

Day 17 of Self-Isolation  (Feels like a 100)

You know if you keep a glass of wine in each hand you can’t accidentally touch your face.

I am starting to understand why pets try to run out of the house when the door opens.

Does anyone know if we can take showers yet or should we just keep washing our hands???

I’m so excited; it’s time to take the garbage out. I wonder what I should wear?

You think it’s bad now? In 20 years our country will be run by people home schooled by day drinkers…

Day 7 at home and the dog is looking at me like, “See? This is why I chew the furniture.”

Home schooling question: Does having your children fix you mixed cocktails count as a chemistry lesson? (Sorry, I’m new at this)

Where’s your husband?....In the garden….I didn’t see him….  You just need to dig a little.

My Mom always told me I wouldn’t accomplish anything by laying in the bed all day, but look at me now! I’m saving the world!

Coronavirus has turned us all into dogs. We roam the house all day looking for food. We’re told “no” if we get too close to strangers.  And we get really excited about car rides.

If anyone owes you money, go to their house now. They should be home.

Homeschooling Day #3: they all graduated. #Done.

I’m giving up drinking for a month. Sorry, punctuation typo. I’m giving up. Drinking for a month.

When our churches were closed in our area, I cried and couldn't believe this had happened. I don't remember ever missing church on Easter. I have fond memories of going to sunrise service on Easter at Powell Memorial church with my mother and sisters in my youth. For years, I enjoyed going to Easter at St. Louis with my hubby and children. After downsizing seven years ago, we have also attended St. Ann's. It's hard on our youngest daughter Amanda because she is an altar server, so hasn't been able to serve at Mass since last month. Now we watch church services on TV and have faith in our wonderful Lord that soon things will return to normal.

I hope and pray all of you are staying well during this unusual time in our lives.

Have a Blessed and Happy Easter.

New Review for CHRISTMAS of HOPE!

Hope everyone is staying well during this time. It's been interesting in the Craver household. Three adult daughters live with us. One daughter was planning on moving out by now, but didn't get to start her job yet with the COVID-19. Other two attend an adult camp and it is closed. I also have a retired husband who can't go to his activities that he enjoys. It's hard to write with so much going on here. I'm going to start getting up earlier in the morning and writing.

Here is a new review for my Christmas of Hope: book

Sweet story and a quick read. This is the fourth book in The Bishops Daughter series. This series would probably be better read in order. Most of the characters were probably introduced in previous books. I could still follow what was going on but I felt like I missed the flow of the book. It was still a good story.

Amish Sew 13,000 Masks for Donation!

Some Amish residents in Lancaster County are sewing masks for use when the regular surgical masks run out at the Lancaster Health Center. The cloth masks will be used by the center as a better option than having patients covering their mouths with tissues. It's not an ideal option but great that the Amish are pitching in to help during this COVID-19 crisis!

99 cent sale for PRISCILLA'S ESCAPE!

I loved writing Priscilla's Escape, Book 3 in The Bishop's Daughters Series! I also enjoyed sharing the bishop's secret. If you haven't read it, I hope you'll buy the ebook copy for 99 cents. The last day to get it at the discounted price is March 20th!

Debbie's Review for PRISCILLA'S ESCAPE

This is a charming Amish romance.

I love both Priscilla and Stephen. They are extremely believable. They have very normal questions about their faith and how God wants them to live their lives. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that they started by developing a friendship based on common interests and an ease in talking things over with each other.

The way that Priscilla’s family came together to discuss the situation when she left home was fantastic. That was a remarkable example of a close knit family working together when faced with difficulty.

There were a number of times that things that happened prior to the beginning of this book were discussed. I felt that many of them may have taken place in previous books about the King family.

This is the first book that I’ve read by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am giving it a rating of 5 stars. I am highly recommending it. I will be reading more of her books.

Busy Days!

3/10/2020

Last week was extremely busy! I watched our youngest granddaughter Lila on Tuesday and Thursday! She is so cute! On Wednesday, I had my IV infusion. I talked with my agent Lesley in the afternoon about having an Amish series to submit. It wasn't probably the best time because I dozed off when she called me. My iPhone's speaker doesn't work, so it doesn't ring now. I really need to see about getting it fixed. I was drugged after my medication infusion, but wanted to talk with her about my writing career. I wrote blurbs for the next two books and emailed them to Lesley last week. Lesley is submitting my book The Amish Mother's Secret (original title was Her Mother's Deception) plus two blurbs for next books in series soon to editors/publishers. Say a prayer that I get a contract. I'm excited and hope my next books will be available for my readers in the near future.

Amanda and Sara had a respite weekend, so they got a break from us. lol And we got a needed break! On Sunday we picked them up and went to church at St. Thomas More, then had lunch at McDonald's, and took Amanda to her Snapdragon bowling party. Her basketball season has ended. I'm posting a picture of Amanda with her wonderful basketball coach, Mark.
