I have a Christmas village for the first time. I had it set up for Thanksgiving, so that grandchildren could see it when they came to our house! I was hoping the grandchildren would love it. I guess they are too young. Two-year-old, Lila, accidentally dropped a small porcelain figurine. It broke in too many pieces to fix. I shouldn't have had it in the front. It happened so quickly. Dillon (he's almost 6) was interested in it. He did mention that a Santa Claus would be nice to add to my village. Next year I want to have a longer table, so I don't have to put some buildings in the back. You can't see the nativity scene, but I have tiny figures of Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus next to the church in the back. I bought the village from Bed, Bath, & Beyond, but added a barn that I bought from Kohl's. It has a string of lights in the front. The Fire Station in the back is from Menard's. The tree in front has a train going around it and the lights go off and on. It also plays Christmas music.
Our daughter Amanda drew Patty Rude's name for my last winner of November Friday Giveaways. I sent her a paperback of A PLAIN WIDOW this afternoon and a $5 gift card to Amazon. Glinda, Karen, and Patty, reviews are great and appreciated by authors. If you enjoy reading my books, I hope you write a review for me. I am on Chapter 18 of my book, PRISCILLA'S ESCAPE. I doubt with the holidays that I can get it done this year yet. I think it should be published in January. I'll have another contest for this new book.
