What would you do if your soon-to-be mother-in-law didn’t like you and preferred that her son married your sister?
Maggie Kauffman loves Simon Wittmer and can’t wait to marry him. But Simon was once briefly engaged to Maggie’s older sister, Elizabeth, and Simon’s mother still favors his first fiancée. How can Maggie live with a woman who clearly dislikes her? How can she win the woman over before her marriage?
Shortly before the wedding day, Magie hears a rumor that Simon was spotted in a restaurant with Elizabeth. Has he changed his mind and would rather marry Elizabeth after all? Should Maggie call off the marriage, or will she hear Simon out and trust him again?
Maggie’s May Song is a wonderful story that any inspirational romance fan will thoroughly enjoy. Diane Craver skillfully describes Amish life, customs, and beliefs during the course of the story to provide the reader with context. Her characters are well-developed and believable. She expertly combines elements of romance and faith in a fast-paced story of trust, forgiveness, family dynamics, and starting over.
Carve out some reading time in your day because you won’t want to put the book down once you begin. Thank you, Diane Craver for writing such an uplifting and entertaining story.
