We enjoyed going to St. Veronica School on Friday morning for Grandparents Day! Tom and I had a great time going to the classrooms, talking to their teachers, and spending time with our sweet grandchildren. They did such a great job guiding us to all the activities that we never had to stand in line. It was perfect timing! It was nice they had this day so our two eighth graders could participate before they start high school. From the prayer service to the family bingo, it was a blessed day! It was awesome spending time with Grandma Beverly too.

When Tom got my prescriptions for ear infections on Wednesday, he bought flowers and candy. Unfortunately, I am still sick. I am going to call ENT doctor tomorrow. With a second antibiotic, I should not still be sick and having sharp spasms of pain in my head. I finished my book, Maggie May's Song, for the Amish Birthday Series. I had a Feb. 1st deadline and tried to get it finished before going to Florida but didn't. On Monday morning, Feb. 2nd, I work up at 3 am at Emily's new rental and finished it. At same time, Emily was finishing a project for her Mayo Clinic job before she would start new job. I emailed to my editor.
On Sunday, February 1st, my daughter Emily and I flew out of Cincinnati to go to Florida where she is going to live and start a new job. For 2 weeks, I couldn't shake a cold and even thought about canceling my trip to Florida. I love the beach and was excited to spend time with Emily before she moved and started her new job in Florida. I hadn't been to the beach since 2022. We flew on Frontier airlines and the pressure in the plane caused me to get ear infections. I think it was likely the cold caused it. If I hadn't had a cold, I would have been fine. The pain was so bad that Emily took me to Urgent Care on Tuesday. We went to pharmacy to get the antibiotic. The pain was so bad I screamed with pain. I can tolerate a lot of pain but this was unbearable. Wednesday, we went to ER at a hospital near the beach. We went to ER again on Thursday and the pain medicine helped to lessen the pain. They wouldn't change the antibiotic. We went to ENT 40 minutes away on Friday and she said the same thing previous ER doctor said to keep taking same antibiotic and not to fly on Wed., the 11th if not completely better. I could end up with a ruptured eardrum.
Bless Emily's heart for taking me to medical places so I could get better. She canceled our flight home and drove a rental car to Ohio. I went to my doctor's office yesterday and NP said my ear infection was still severe on left side and prescribed stronger antibiotic. I did finish my Amish Birthday Romance book and submitted it to the formatter. I woke up at 3 am in Florida and finished writing it. I'll share more about Book 2 in this series soon! |
