Book Review

see-no-evil-art-large.jpg

My plan was to post early this morning when I got up at 5, but instead I finished Chapter 9 and got a good start on Chapter 10. I wish I could think of a great title for my Mallory book. Actually I have thought of several, but then see books by the same titles on Amazon. Then I went through more items to pitch or give away. And cleaning took more time than I wanted to spend on it. A cleaning lady would be great! :) The day has gone by so quickly. And can you believe it will be July in a few days? I’m afraid the summer will be over too soon.

Remember the “Author Week” I had back in March to celebrate small publishers, and I bought the e-books by these authors? I started reading them according to the day of the week they were featured. I just finished reading the third one and it was Miss Mae’s historical mystery, SEE NO EVIL, MY PRETTY LADY. I never guessed the murderer and I have read other mysteries where I have. I’m glad I bought it. Her short book is well-written and I had to finish it instead of writing. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I highly recommend you read this novel. I loved her descriptions. Miss Mae made me feel like I was right there with the characters. I felt like I was experiencing everything they did. Also I liked the sweet romance between wealthy Gareth and new maid Dorcy.

The setting is London’s famous fog which makes it spooky as it wraps around the characters. The pacing is wonderful and never falters. The characters have to go to a small deserted island because of a will request so that adds to the mystery.

It’s only $3.00 so head over to The Wild Rose Press and buy it!

Thank you for the review, Diane. I’m really glad you enjoyed the story.

Your London fog blurb made me think of when I was young. My bed was right by 3 windows. Sometimes at night, I would look out and it would be foggy. I would swear I could see Frankenstein coming for my window. Thanks for your take on Miss Mae’s mystery. Cindi

  4. Sarita Leone Says:

This sounds like a fun, fast read. :)

Ooh, I have trouble with titles, too. Sometimes they just come easily and other times it’s tough. I’m sure you’ll come up with something that fits the story.

    Good luck with the writing!

    ~~Marianne, Cindi & Sarita,
I am so impressed with Miss Mae’s well-crafted story!

    Cindi,
It sounds like you have a terrific imagination. Have you ever thought of writing?

    Sarita,
It wasn’t hard thinking of the title, A FIERY SECRET, for my chick-lit mystery. I think there’s a lot of pressure because you need a catchy title to get the readers’ attention.

  6. Kisha Says:

Hey, that’s a excellent post. Really liked reading this. Thanks
