“For Sale”

cape-cod-brick-house.bmp
Our brick Cape Cod house is for sale.

back-view-of-cape-cod.bmp
In the back of house is Tom’s hot bed for the plants he starts in the spring.

We used to raise pigs, chickens and turkeys! We also have ten acres - woods and fields.

I do hate to leave our pool. Since 2004, it’s been great for family celebrations!

play-area.bmp
Tom built this play area for our six children. Neighbor children also enjoyed it!

How was everyone’s weekend?

Ours was busy going through twenty years of stuff in the basement, shed and a little in other rooms. We made a start in bagging up items to give away or to put in trash on garbage day. April took out several things for us, and she organized the basement so it will be easier for us to decide what to do with the rest. We’ve accumulated so much from our large family of eight living here. April did find love letters that Tom and I wrote to each other before we were married. I can’t believe they were in the basement too!

We just put the for sale sign out a week ago and haven’t put any ads in the paper yet. We have a contract on a one floor brick ranch house which is only 4 years old in a beautiful setting. We are grateful to the owners for giving us time to sell our house.

Lea and Emily cleaned off several bicycles and rolled them to the street. We also gave some beds we had stored in the basement to an organization that picks up items for the homeless. Bart gave some help after he finished doing auto work. I’m glad we made a little progress. After we worked most of the day, we went swimming.

What I’m reading right now: Miss Mae’s See No Evil, My Pretty Lady

Hottie of the Week: will be posted this week -I’ve missed a few weeks!

Writing Progress on Mallory book: I want to finish Chapter Nine today! Amanda had a dentist appointment, and I did other errands this morning. Hopefully, this afternoon will be productive. I love this book and wish I could just work on it. I’d love to get it finished this summer and get query letters out to agents and editors.

Good luck on working on your book. I can’t wait to read more of it. I didn’t write again this weekend, but hope to change that this week. With the new laptop it should make it a little easier.

I’ll say a little prayer that your house sells quickly.

  2. Diane Says:

    Hi Patty,
I’m sure you will get your book finished soon. You are so close now. Thanks for the prayer - that will help.

Your Cape Cod style brick home is lovely! I knew you had beautiful surroundings. I love it up East. Good luck with your book and the sale of your home. Take care, Cindi

~~Steve, Even though your offer is tempting - my husband Tom is very attached to the brown couches. :)

  8. Ceri Hebert Says:

What a beautiful home! I wish it were closer, but that would be a bit of a commute for us. I’m really hoping that we can go for a house soon. Maybe if I can save my royalty pennies.

I’ve been editing my fingers off and been thinking of jumping the gun and sending a query off to an agent for my current manuscript (complete but not entirely edited)

  9. Diane Says:

    Ceri,
Hope you can get a house soon. You should send a query off to an agent and while you wait, you can edit your ms. I’m excited for you. Things are happening for you!

  10. Sarita Leone Says:

Man, it’s a shame your house isn’t smaller/cheaper! Nathan and I have been on the lookout for our future home, but we were looking for something more under $150,000! lol

  15. Diane Says:

    Jennifer,
    Good luck on your search!

  16. Jennifer Says:

A realtor who works for Remax has been emailing us listings that match our criteria, so we do have a start!

  17. Diane Says:

    Hi Jennifer,
We’re going to list with them if we can’t sell our house. We wanted to try ourselves first. That’s wonderful you have a realtor helping you.

You have a lovely property, good luck with the sale of it

  19. Miss Mae Says:
