Blog List, Hallmark Movie & More

Julie Ann Emery and Jodelle Ferland
“Pictures of Hollis Woods” is a wonderful Hallmark movie. If you haven’t seen it, it’s available in DVD. It was on Sunday night. We taped it and watched the movie last night. It’s based on the book by the same title written by Patricia Reilly Giff. It’s a story about a twelve-year-old with a broken past. She’s never had a family so when Hollis gets to spend a summer with the Regan family, her social worker is pleased and hopes everything will work out for a permanent placement. Hollis feels she’s part of the family until there’s an accident.
Sissy Spacek is the magical older lady with a sparkle in her eye who helps Hollis learn the meaning of family. Named Josie, she loves pussycats, most of all her tabby named Henry, whom she carries everywhere. She is an eccentric artist type, and she sees the poetry in Hollis’s soul, plus she can tell that Hollis draws sketches like a professional. They make a beautiful couple, but Josie is not well.

Amanda’s school closed today because of snow. She was upset because she’s a people person and loves going to school. I told her we’ll go to the library if the roads improve later. I’ll have her wrap Christmas presents for me. I wish I had our tree so we could decorate it, but the roads are hilly where I usually get our tree.
Christy Hawkes posted a comment yesterday about her daughter giving birth in a bathtub. It’s really something and I’m glad the baby girl and Christy’s daughter are both okay. If you’re interested, click here for the story.

I hope Amanda likes wrapping presents. Emily loves it to bad she can’t help much because she can’t keep a secret. LOL

Patty, I know we have some people in the family who can’t keep secrets.
Melissa, I’m thrilled you stopped by. I want to get published by HQ someday. That’s great you are published by them and get to see your books in all the stores. I know most kids are thrilled to have a snow day. lol Part of it is that Amanda was born with Down syndrome and she loves routine and people.
