Agent requested a full!

Monday, April 16th, 2012

Last week an agent requested a full manuscript of my Amish romance, A JOYFUL BREAK. She asked for an exclusive read and said to give her two months. Of course, I hope to hear good news! :)

Last Friday, my team leader wanted to talk with me. I was afraid I’d scored a test incorrectly or maybe it was a validity paper which is a big deal, but here it was to tell me she recommended me for the high school Louisiana reading project. I had to go to a meeting about it. It will be a small select group of us this time - only 23 and will last a week. It’s extra money because my next assignment was going to be April 26th. This one starts tomorrow and ends April 25th. I’ve worked the last 3 weeks on the Washington project so my only day off was today.

HAPPY EASTER!

Saturday, April 7th, 2012

I haven’t been around because I started a scoring project on March 26th. It’s a 3 week high school reading project. It was nice getting my paycheck yesterday for the first week of work. While raising our six children, the only outside job I did was some marketing surveys plus did substitute teaching one year. I make more from my scoring job than I ever did from subbing, and I didn’t care for filling in for absent teachers. Scoring projects start in March and usually end in July or August. Then there are a few small projects in November and December. I’m not going to do too many projects, because I’ll be babysitting for our new grandson. Once you commit to a scoring project, you do it the whole time until it’s finished. It’s a seasonal job and they have deadlines to meet. I’m hoping to make enough money to remodel our kitchen. We will do the work ourselves. I wish we could just hire someone to do it. :) I’d love to go to the beach for a week, too, if possible.

I haven’t had time to write but hoping to get a publisher this year for my Amish romance. Congratulations to Maureen Emmons of Pennsylvania for winning a copy of my A CHRISTMAS GIFT! I’m sending it to her this morning. She participated in the LASR March Contest!

Hope everyone has a blessed and joyful Easter!
