Contest ends this week!

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Instead of drawing two names on October 11th, I decided to move up the date to this Thursday, September 30th. I’ll draw two winners and they will get to choose one book off the gently used list. Even though the books are gently used, they are in good condition. I’m sorry but the winners need to live in the United States. It’s too much hassle to mail to other countries at this time.

To be entered in this week’s drawing, just leave a comment on one of my September posts. Thank you and good luck!

LIST OF GENTLY USED BOOKS:

The Secret Duke by Jo Beverley (This book is part of a series called the Malloren World. (I don’t happen to have the other books in the series but this can be read as a stand alone book.)

No Choice But Seduction by Johanna Lindsay
The Devil Who Tamed Her by Johanna Lindsay

Desperado by Diana Palmer

The Law Is No Lady by Helen R. Myers

That Holiday Feeling by Debbie Macomber, Sherryl Woods, Robyn Carr
That Summer Place by Debbie Macomber, Susan Wiggs, Jill Barnett
How to Lasso A Cowboy by Jodi Thomas, Patricia Potter, Emily Carmichael, and Maureen McKade

The following books are all by Debbie Macomber: (Some of these stories were written several years ago but have recently been reissued.)

Susannah’s Garden - published first time in 06 - very good read

50 Harbor Street
Ready for Love
Morning Comes Softly
Country Brides
Sooner or Later
Married in Seattle
Wyoming Brides
The Manning Brides

Right Next Door

Hope you see one or more you might like to win!

September Birthdays!

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

We had a fun day and celebrated two special birthdays! Emily’s birthday was yesterday so she came home for the weekend! Christina’s birthday is today. Happy Birthday to both daughters! Our whole family went to Olive Garden restaurant for lunch and it was so nice to celebrate together. We were in a room pretty much by ourselves. We came back to our house for ice cream and cake. Tonight we went to see the movie, “The Switch” with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. I really enjoyed it a lot!

I need to finish a writing project! I’m hoping to get it done in the next day or two.

Hope everyone is having a gorgeous fall weekend. We enjoyed the cooler weather today. Instead of being hot and humid, it only went to the middle seventies.

First Review of A CHRISTMAS GIFT!!!!

Monday, September 20th, 2010

achristmasgift-sm

I just received my first review of A Christmas Gift. It will release on November 15th and the publisher is Whimsical Publications. This reviewer will post her review on their site on the release date!

REVIEW:
When I first opened this story I felt like I was reading an autobiography. A woman tells a story of a Christmas years ago that she remembers fondly. Let me start by saying that while I am not usually a fan of first person…..I really, really, really like it.

There was something so powerful and real about the story and the characters. The way a little girl looks at her daddy with hero worship in her eyes is a wonderful thing. And oh how my heart broke right along with Debby’s on several occasions. I cried more than once during this story…in a good way though. It was that touching for me that I was moved to tears.

A wonderful story that will really touch your heart. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic New Review for MARRYING MALLORY!

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

I just saw an incredible review of my inspirational romance, Marrying Mallory by Stephanie Christmann.

Here is a portion of Stephanie’s review and here is the link for the whole thing:
http://fortheluvofsanity.blogspot.com/2010/09/book-review-marrying-mallory-by-diane.html

“Ok, first I must admit that I am way behind on writing this review. I want to apologize first to Diane, and then to my readers. Why my readers you might ask?? Because if you haven’t already read this wonderful, modern-day inspirational romance, maybe you would have if I’d posted this review earlier. This was definitely a one night read for me….and depending on how fast you read….it will be for you as well. Once you meet Mallory, you simply can’t stop reading until the end….and then you know, you are sort of sad that the story doesn’t go on.

Mallory has just went through a divorce, and isn’t exactly over it yet!! Luckily, she has a wonderful relationship with a group of great girls and a relationship with her mother that every woman wishes for. Between all of them, they can discuss anything. Mallory decides she is going to go through with a surgery that she has wanted for a long time. Even though it isn’t completely necessary at that time, everyone around her supports her decision and stands behind her the whole way.

When she meets the surgeon, the story really gets exciting. It is so obvious that they both have feelings for each other, but I guess you would say that Mallory is sort of in denial over them. The romance is so slight and subtle, and is pretty much obvious to everyone except Mallory.

As we watch this romance develop and strengthen, we start to not feel so bad about Mallory being “done wrong” by her ex-husband and we start rooting for her to move on with her life and realize that it is sometimes Ok with God to get remarried (under certain circumstances.)

I have to mention that Diane’s opening to “Marrying Mallory” quotes Ecclesiastes 3:11

“He has made everything beautiful in its own time.”

I think it was the perfect choice for this book. Malloy’s wait, although not always easy, certainly proves to be in her and her sons best interest.

So all in all….A FANTASTIC READ!!!

Now hurry over to Desert Breeze and get your copy while they are on sale!!!

That’s right….

Desert Breeze Publishing is offering “Marrying Mallory” at the great low “sale” price of $1.99.

But hurry, I’m sure this price won’t last long.

And now….some of my personal thoughts on issues that were presented in “Marrying Mallory“.

I love the way Diane has so many different, yet strong relationships going on in the background throughout the whole story. I think this is what helps to make this such a delightful read.

Pretty much all of the characters (well maybe with the exception of the ex-husband) help to build each other up in this book. It really is very inspiring and I hope it helps to encourage everyone to act this way in their personal relationships. Many of the characters, other than just Mallory, experience some sort of dilemma of their own, and you can see God working in everyone’s lives throughout the whole book.”
