Sean Murray plays Special Agent, Timothy McGee

The other week my daughter, Christina, (I think it was Christina anyhow - hey, I have 5 daughters - can’t always remember which one I talked to and about what :) ) mentioned that I hadn’t had a Hot Dork for some time. That’s true, I haven’t. For a reminder, I try to pick guys who are obviously attractive, but a bit dorky in their own unique way. I happen to like dork hotties.

How about you? Do you like hot dorks?

I watched NCIS last night. Wasn’t it great? I was so glad the witness Nora survived her allergy attack on the plane. As usual, Tony made me laugh. He’s played by Michael Weatherly and was a hottie pick here in April 08.

Here is Sean Murray’s BIO:

He was born in Bethesda, Maryland, outside Washington, D.C. His birth date is November 15, 1977. He spent his childhood near Coffs Harbour in New South Wales, Australia, and holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and Australia. His mother is Vivienne, fourth wife of American television producer and screenwriter, Donald Bellisario, making him Bellisario’s stepson.

Murray lives in Encino, California, with his wife Carrie James and young daughter.
Sean Murray’s television credits include a starring role in the series “The Random Years” and a supporting role in “Harts of the West,” on CBS. He has made guest appearances on numerous shows including “JAG,” on the Network, “Boston Public” and “ER.” In addition, Murray has appeared in several feature films, including “Hocus Pocus,” “This Boy’s Life,” and starred in Todd Field’s “Too Romantic.”

I think Sean Murray is adorable yet dorky as McGee in NCIS.
CONGRATULATIONS TO SEAN MURRAY FOR BEING MY DORK OF THE WEEK!

Joshua “Josh” Radnor (born July 29, 1974) is an American actor who plays Ted Mosby on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

Radnor was born in Bexley, Ohio, the son of Alan Radnor, a lawyer. He grew up in Bexley, near Columbus, where he attended Jewish day schools (including the Columbus Torah Academy) and summer camps. Radnor graduated from Bexley High School and attended Kenyon College, where his school’s theater department presented him with the Paul Newman award.

Thanks to my daughter April for suggesting Joshua fits my title of “Hot Dork” - I obviously agree! :) Ted is hot and an appealingly geeky performer!

CONGRATULATIONS TO JOSHUA RADNOR FOR BEING DIANE’S HOT DORK OF THE WEEK!

I haven’t posted an actor for hot dork recently so decided to pick one for this week! I think Adam Sandler’s the perfect choice for this honor.

Adam Sandler was born on September 9, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York, to Judy and Stanley Sandler. At 17 he took his first step towards becoming a stand-up comedian when he spontaneously took the stage at a Boston comedy club. He found he was a natural comic. He nurtured his talent while at New York University (graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1991) by performing regularly in clubs and at universities. During his freshman year he snagged a recurring role as the Huxtable family’s friend Smitty on “The Cosby Show” (1984). While working at a comedy club in L.A., he was “discovered” by Dennis Miller, who recommended him to “Saturday Night Live” and went on to make a lot of movies.

Trivia:

~Father was an electrician. His brother is an attorney. One sister is a dentist; the other sister is a waitress.

~Started Happy Madison Productions, which is behind most of his films.

~His production company, Happy Madison, is named after two of his films, Happy Gilmore (1996) and Billy Madison (1995).

~Has starred alongside Drew Barrymore in two movies: The Wedding Singer (1998) and 50 First Dates (2004).

~Adam wore an Armani tux in his June 2003 wedding to Jackie Sandler.

~Performed at the RNC (Republican national conference) in 2004.

~Was considered for the role of “Willy Wonka” in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).

~He and his wife, Jackie Sandler, became the parents of a baby Sadie Madison, on May 6, 2006 in Los Angeles.

I posted a picture from his movie “50 First Dates” because I liked this movie a lot. Drew Barrymore was in this movie with him.

Do you have a favorite Adam Sandler movie?

CONGRATULATIONS TO ADAM SANDLER FOR BEING DIANE’S HOT DORK OF THE WEEK!

It doesn’t matter how old your children are because you never stop being a mother. Our twenty-seven-year-old daughter April became very ill last Thursday. As the pain worsened on Friday, I told her I’d drive to her townhouse and take her to the hospital. She had called her doctor but she wasn’t in the office. April didn’t want to go to the hospital and wanted to wait another couple of hours. But her boyfriend decided to leave work when he heard how severe her pain was, and he took her to ER on Friday around 5:30. Here she had appendicitis and needed to have her appendix removed. She went into surgery at 10:30. Even though I knew it was a routine type of surgery, I was worried about her and hated that she had to have surgery. As a mother you always wish it could be you instead of your child going thru the pain. Fortunately, her appendix had not ruptured. We are thankful April got to the hospital before it ruptured.

photo_spokesperson.jpgJohn McGinley with his son Max

John C. McGinley as Dr. Perry Cox on “Scrubs”

If you watch “Scrubs”, you probably enjoy watching the sarcastic and demanding Dr. Cox but he’s far from being heartless. John McGinley’s skill as a dramatic and comedic actor is showcased very well on “Scrubs” as well as in many movies. I’m not going to list all of them because there are too many. McGinley was born in 1959 in New York and has one child Max from his first marriage. Max actually is responsible for his father meeting his second wife, Nicole Kessler. Nine-year-old Max introduced the couple during a beach encounter. John and Nicole were married in 2007.

I have to mention that Max was born with Down syndrome. McGinley was the 2007 National Buddy Walk Spokesman. McGinley has been fantastic in promoting the Buddy Walk. If you haven’t heard of the Buddy Walks, they are held in areas all across the United States. It’s an incredible day of celebration with family, friends and people who want to raise awareness, raise funds, and raise the hope of a better world for all people with Down syndrome.

John said this about his son, “Max has taught me that people with Down syndrome are more LIKE the rest of us than they are different. They have feelings, talents and dreams just like everyone. And they deserve to be accepted and appreciated for who they are and what they contribute to our communities.”

Congratulations to John McGinley for being “Diane’s Hot Dork of the Week!” Also a big thanks to a wonderful Hollywood actor for taking the time to make a difference in making people realize the importance of inclusion for people who happen to be born with Down syndrome!

Brendan Fraser

Recently Amanda watched her video, “George of the Jungle” starring Brendan Fraser. It hit me how Fraser would be perfect for my next “Hot Dork of the Week” because a lot of the characters he portrays are dorky and funny! Years ago we loved him in “Encino Man” which was his first real break as an actor. Fraser has been quoted in one magazine article as saying that he seeks out roles combining “silliness and sexiness” which is probably why I enjoy some of his movies. I especially liked the naive role he played in “Blast From The Past” which was released in 1999.

The son of a Canadian tourism executive, Fraser was born in Indianapolis on December 3, 1968. Thanks to his father’s job, Fraser and his family lived in locales as varied as Ottawa, London, Rome, and Seattle. During his time in London, Fraser became interested in theater and eventually enrolled in Seattle’s Cornish Institute for training.

Congratulations to Brendan Fraser for being Diane’s Hot Dork of the Week! Brendan’s awesome in portraying very hot (he’s so muscular and handsome) but yet funny characters!
